According to reports, the Facebook-owned messaging app has started rolling out this feature for beta users of its Android app. If you are a beta tester, you can get this feature by downloading WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.14.3 on your Android smartphone.
Now, a new report has been told about the new updates that the company has rolled out in this new feature. For starters, WhatsApp's upcoming View Once feature will allow users to send messages for a short period of time, which will disappear once the user sees them. WhatsApp users can share text messages, photos and even videos using this technology.
Another thing you need to know about this feature is that these messages won't stay in the receiver's inbox forever if they don't open it. According to the report, if a user does not open a View message within 14 days, the message will disappear and the receiver will not be able to access that message.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will notify or alert users if a message they have received with the View Once feature has expired. The blog post states that WhatsApp is informing its users about the views once expired by introducing a warning system.
"Photo expired. This photo has expired, please ask (sender's name) to resend it,” " An in-app notification will be displayed to the user when they tap on a photo that has already expired. The messaging app will still show the same notification. When a video you received under the pass View Once feature expires.
This update is compatible with WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.15.11. But if you don't see this update in the app yet, don't panic. It is expected to be available to all Android beta testers of the app in future updates.
